Sioux River Cyclery, under the ownership of Robb Rasmussen, began as a Brookings Business in 1977. Now located at 501 Main Avenue, sharing a corner of historic downtown Brookings with the Post Office and Nick’s Hamburger Shop. This structure was built in 1927 as a JC Penney department store.

Our mission is to promote human powered activity through the quality product we sell and quality service we provide. Sioux River Bicycles & Fitness is dedicated to serving the Brookings area with a wide selection of outstanding products and services.

Our Vision is for Brookings to convert 10% of its transportation to bicycles by 2015. We value Collaborative Partnerships throughout the community and seek a greater community awareness, which benefits our community locally and globally.

Robb Rasmussen opened Sioux River Bicycle and Fitness in May of 1977 and serves as owner and operator. Prior to opening Sioux River, Robb worked at three different bike shops, including Sparrow Cycles — a custom frame builder in Missoula, Montana.
